Funkyween : No Costume Halloween

"Change the game, don't let the game change you!" - Macklemore

Been saying this for years, Halloween parties are not my thing. Spooky costumes, scary music has never been of my interest, but with the urge of gaining new experiences and adapting to different ideas, I've learnt to give everything a shot! But, like always it has to be my way or no way. I get it, Halloween is all about turning the everyday on its head, being dead when you’re not, wearing your underwear in public and calling it a costume even though it's really cold. Certainly I am not doing that, though with Halloween approaching in just 2 days, I know people are working on their outfits to look crazy AF! However, I have my own way of looking glorious for a Halloween eve that I plan to attend.

I never like to dress up extravagant and go out-of-the-box making efforts to look stylish. Each one of us has a different way to make him/herself stand out of the crowd while being comfortable in their own skin. My personal style is minimalistic and I love carrying outfits that speak more of what I am than what I might try being. For Halloween, I have created a simple yet classy look while adding some funk to it! Scroll down for complete details..

top, leggings : Pantaloons | boots : H&M | choker : ProLeather | sunglasses : Amazon

With Halloween around the corner, it's only natural to look entertainment for costume inspiration. But if you're a person like me - lazy, carefree, fundamental, you know uncultured costumes aren't for us. You are going to look stunning with what you have in your wardrobe, just like how I knew and picked out a turquoise blue side-shoulder top and paired it with black lace leggings! The lace gives elegance to the entire look while the colour of top being an unusual one, looked raw and gorgeous. I chose to add some spice to the outfit with a hot pink broad sized choker that covered my entire neck but appeared graceful and unconventional at the same time! Needless to say, it looks fancy. Also, I snugged into my black suede boots, keeping it sleek and comfortable for the eve. It's a lot of dancing so you know you gotta stay unworried. PS : The sunnies are optional but they look absolutely mesmerising!

To complete the look, my MUA gave me lose curls to add definition to my hair, making my face look sleeker, while she also added some pop glam with subtle colours while painting my face with makeup keeping it sumptuous and swanky. The bright pink lips look even cooler because of the neon coloured choker and compliment each other!

Let's get on tricking with no costume this Halloween and still treat ourselves with the pleasure we all deserve. Go out, dress fun, stay comfy, stun for run! I hope you all liked this look. Festive Outfit : Option 2 - Bhaidooj

Happy Diwali guys!!!!! Hope y'all are having a great time. I am thrilled to receive the amazing response on my last post, published just yesterday, showing a Diwali outfit, and I can't thank y'all enough for the love you've showered. One of the most viewed posts in less than 20 hours, it's stupendous!

Well, I've just got done with the 'maha pujan' at my place and as promised I am sharing the second festive option (for Bhaidooj) with all you lovely readers. The entire Diwali series, starting from Dhanteras till Bhaidooj is a gala affair and it's so much fun selecting your favorite attires for each day.

For bhaidooj, I thought of dressing up a bit extravagant this year but with a simple kurta paired with churidar, the best way to go about looking absolutely graceful and traditional at the same time. Scroll down to read all details of this regal look for the high-spirited season..

kurta, footwear : Sarojini Market, Delhi | leggings : FBB | Dupatta : Local market, Lucknow
bangles : The Trinket Shop | earrings : Sarojini Market

Festivals give us a chance to dress in traditional silhouettes and make heads turn wherever we step into. This time I picked a simple, color block maxi kurta in chiffon fabric with karshmiri embroidery in blue + white + yellow (bought for Rs.200), and chose to pair it with a yellow churidar pajama. Adding some authentic Indianness, I threw up a silk dupatta in red with gold emboss print that complimented the bright hues of the kurta and churidar. Dupattas enhance the beauty of all ladies instantly, trust me! Moving further, I chose to accessorise the look with traditional metallic jhumkas (bought for Rs.50) in my ears, with silver metal bangles in my hands to give a mystique touch; and ditching heels this time, I added a pair of white bow flats (bought for Rs.100) with wooden beads, that look pretty fashionable.

Adding some more magic on my face, my MUA - Simran Taneja gave me a glam look with golden eyes, heavy mascara and white waterline with a hint of bronze on the sides. Deep contouring and gold blush with deep red lips and soft curls made me look even more enchanting, and yes, I feel like falling in love with myself all over again!

Finding the right cuts to don, and mixing-matching colors and prints in the hustle bustle of festivities looks like a task, but then I'm always here to help you flaunt your best styles for the same reason, making it simple for you to pick your attires for all occasions. I hope you liked this look and if you did, do let me know in the comments below! Until next, lots of love and best wishes. Enjoy!!!!

Festive Outfit : Option 1 - Diwali

Hi everybody, how's it going? I know I've been MIA for a long time, and just 2 posts in 2 months didn't suffice. But guys, you've been seeing my crazy schedules all over my instagram and snapchat and because you've been my constant supporters, you know how #lifeofablogger is! However, I promise to be a bit more active in the coming days as I have a lot in-stored for all you lovelies.

Well, that brings me to today's post - a beautiful Diwali outfit option that I have created for girls across the nation who are scouring through the deepest treasures of malls, fashion streets and online shopping portals to make their perfect ‘Diwali outfit’ come to life!

If you remember, I visited Delhi in early September, and I did mention to you guys that I will be visiting the very famous Sarojini market, and might even do a haul video for you guys. Though the video couldn't happen, but I must tell you that I did shop a lot of stuff which also includes a few picks that I've paired up to create my Diwali looks this year! I don't really like to spend much on Indian clothing, as I wear it occasionally, say twice a year and that's it. So, while I got hold of some regal odds and sods during my Sarojini stroll, I grabbed it all.

kurta, earrings : Sarojini Market, Delhi | leggings : FBB | heels : Steve Madden
rings : H&M | handcuff : Auhna Creations

Diwali being the grand affair of the year is loved by all, and just like all of you, I too have a thing for the occasion and prep to celebrate it in full enthusiasm. I mean for me, it's all about extravagant lighting, good food and beautiful clothes! This time I have opted to get dressed in a straight cut, maxi kurta with full sleeves, in royal blue in chiffon fabric (perfect for the hot weather we have in town right now) that I bought from Sarojini for just Rs.200, paired with a cotton churidar in white, complimenting the minimal white and orange embroidery on the neck of the kurta. Churidar pajamas work best for petite girls like me as they make our legs look sleek and us tall, and then we also have the option to add funky heels in the feet. I threw in my favorite Steve Madden pair in gold and beige that looked apt with the accessories - hooped earrings with orange and white pompoms bought for Rs.50, a gold handcuff and platinum rings.

Though, one of the fanciest parts that makes this look stand out is definitely the makeup and the hair that have been thoroughly worked upon by my friend and MUA - Simran Taneja. A pretty soul that she is, gave me a fresh face with deep bronze and brown eyes, pink blush and bright pink lips, with little contour and curled my hair making me look nothing less than mesmerizing! #MirrorSaidPretty

I hope you liked my Diwali outfit option 1. I shall reveal the other one (for Bhaidooj) tomorrow, so stay tuned for that. Also, if you're looking for a good makeup artist to help you get ready for weddings or other festive occasions, please feel free to contact Simran (and refer her with my code : 'Picker at Pace' for discounts). I can vouch, she is one of the most talented MUAs I've come across.

Until next, wishing you lots of love, happiness and a prosperous Diwali!

Lifestyle Update : Car Wash at Automate - Automobile Spa

A lot of you know that my family gifted me a a car last year on my birthday, and I have been driving the same for 1 year now. It's undoubtedly one of the closest gifts to my heart and I try taking care of it as much as I can, now. I don't have to bother for it's technical maintenance because that's what the men in my family get done. But some regular wishy-washy jobs are something I like to particularly get involved in. Say, the recent incidence was when I was invited to collaborate with AUTOMATE, offering me a free car wash. It's a luxury car spa that helps bring life to cars once again! Situated in the basement parking of Riverside Mall, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, this car spa is equipped with all car cleaning facilities and it's one of the top choices of all Lucknowites. Easily accessible and value for money.

We all are aware that improper techniques cause unsightly swirls and scratches in the paint of the car. Hence, it's always recommended to get it cleaned by experts, at least twice a month. Automate has a step-by-step car washing process that not only removes loose dirt and grime but also removes contamination, securing it for further use. Vacuuming, Steaming, Washing and Greasing/Polishing are the four major steps used in the process of a car wash at Automate; along with thorough rinsing and Drying to make your car shine as new. It uses products that are expert recommended and are healthy to use. A huge kit from a brand called '3M Car Care' is used everytime which includes products like : Car Wash Shampoo, Tyre Dresser, Dashboard Dresser, Premium Liquid Wax and a Microfiber Cloth to make sure your vehicle is protected by UV reaction, leaving no greasy residue.

Just like our body needs thorough cleaning, similarly the body of our car needs a proper spa as well! A team of 2-3 men is involved in the process to make it quick and hassle free. The best part is that each one is superbly trained, meaning they exactly know when and how to do it. TBH, it's really simple, you go to Riverside, park your car at Automate, buy a movie ticket or go shopping in the mall, and by the time you get free your car is all done. Sounds cool? PS : You may choose to ask for different packages for car maintenance suiting your needs. I highly recommend this luxury automobile spa and detailing centre, considering they not only wash cars expertly, but also modify your vehicles like never before. #MustTry
